Young generation - who is it?

Those who can be defined as a young generation (except those who feel young at heart), should additionally meet one of the following conditions, this is be a:

  • students;
  • PhD candidates;
  • postdoctoral researchers;
  • an early-career researchers (with no more than 2–3 years of research experience).

Participation in the conference - how and what needs to be done?

  1. Prepare an abstract – use the template and send your abstract to abstract@fisa-euradwaste2025.pl
    Important: please indicate in the message that you belong to the Young generation, additionally provide such designation in the title of the message and the title of the document, which should be named: "youth_abstract.docx" Thanks to such designation, you will be qualified as a person who can apply for a travel grant (see conditions below).
  2. Submission deadlines:
    1. December 15th - for those who want to take part in the competition for the best papers
      Take advantage of the unique opportunity to write a scientific article for a Special Issue of EPJ-N
    2. January 15th – abstracts submission without the possibility of publication in the special issue
  3. Wait for the acceptance notification.
    Your abstract will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.
    Based on the reviewers' assessment you will be invited to:
    1. submit the final version of your abstract
    2. write a full article (only for those who submit abstracts by December 15)
    3. or prepare a poster or video
  4. Prepare a full paper, poster or video
  5. Submit the final version of:
    1. abstract (use template)
    2. and paper – submission link and instructions will be sent to invited authors
    3. or poster* (use template)
    4. or video** (detailed guidelines will be provided soon)
  6. Register for the conference (registration will be open in January/February 2025)
  7. Join us at the conference 12-16 May 2024

*Note that you do not need to print your poster; we will handle printing for all posters at the event

Travel Grant Rules

 

Travel grants conditions:

  • Submit an abstract and prepare a paper, poster or video
  • Take part in all 4 days of the conference (mark your presence on the attendance list – a necessary condition)
  • Present your research in person via poster or video
  • Receive up to 500 €*** reimbursement of travel costs – paid after the conference
  • Remember, the conference is free of charge, but the cost of travel and accommodation is your expense

*** exceptions/exclusions:

  1. Young people whose work is related to EURATOM programmes - cannot apply for a travel grant, the cost of their travel should be financed from project funds
  2. People who are Warsaw-based and its surroundings daily cannot apply for a travel grant

Any thematically related to:

  • nuclear energy
  • nuclear safety
  • reactor systems
  • medical applications of nuclear techniques
  • radiation technologies
  • waste management
  • new concepts, innovations, Gen IV, SMR
  • benefits and threats related to the use of nuclear phenomena, processes and techniques
  • technical aspects, economics and social reception of nuclear energy applications

If you are not an engineer, you represent the humanities research field (law, economics, tourism, journalism), and your research is related to #nuclear - submit an abstract and join us.
